Occasional Placement Opportunities

At Ashland Labradors, our primary focus is the careful planning and placement of puppies. On occasion, adult dogs or older juveniles may become available for placement.

These opportunities are infrequent, intentional, and evaluated individually. This page is updated only when a dog is actively available.

Why an Adult or Older Pup May Be Available

Dogs listed on this page may include:

• Young dogs retained beyond puppyhood for evaluation
• Adults retired from our breeding program
• Dogs that have completed our Head Start Program

Availability is the result of program decisions, not health or behavioral deficiencies.

Not Rescues or Returned Dogs

Dogs offered through this page are not rescues, not shelter dogs, and not returned pets.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise:
• Dogs have remained under the care of Ashland Labradors
• Dogs have not been previously placed in private homes

Any exceptions will be clearly disclosed.

Temperament, Training & Maturity

Older pups and adults may offer advantages for certain households, including:

✔ Greater emotional maturity
✔ Established routines and structure
✔ Reduced intensity of early puppy stages
✔ Prior exposure to household environments

Each dog’s background, training level, and experience are disclosed individually.

Health & Veterinary Care

All dogs listed are:
✔ Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
✔ Microchipped
✔ Maintained on routine preventive care
✔ Evaluated for sound temperament and physical health

Complete veterinary records are provided at placement.

Placement Process

Placement of adult dogs and older pups is handled through direct communication only.

• No waiting list is maintained
• No deposits are accepted until a specific dog is offered
• Placement decisions are made solely by Ashland Labradors

We reserve the right to decline placement if a home is not deemed suitable.

Pricing & Terms

Pricing for adult dogs and older pups reflects:
• Age and maturity
• Training and development
• Veterinary care
• Program investment

Pricing is fixed and non-negotiable.
All placements are governed by written agreement.

Companion Placement Only

Unless expressly stated in writing:
• Dogs are placed as companions only
• Breeding rights are not implied

Any spay/neuter requirements will be outlined in the placement contract.
